cloverkeep

[checks date of last update and this update] well, what d'ya know... i've made an update within the same month as my last one. i know, i know! hold the applause! there's good reason for this, however. today marks the two year anniversary of cloverkeep!! i can't believe it's been two years already... time really flies, huh?

as a little celebration, how about we look back on the earlier versions of cloverkeep?

ah, the humble beginnings... i'd like to note this isn't actually the first version, as i no longer have the exact files for that. the screenshot above is my best recreation of it from memory!

this first version is entierly different from what i have going on now. i had a totally different vibe going for me back then. not necessarily bad, mind you, just different. i still like this sort of thing, but i feel like the cutesy look suits me a lot more.

here is also where we get to see the dead and gone lexicon and playlist pages. i really was just doing whatever back then huh. i think they were mildly interesting, but... eh. kind of plain and boring...? i'd be open to bringing the playlist stuff back if i can figure out a way to make that real without using [shudders] sp*tify embeds...

something i think is really funny is that i had no idea my background wasn't fit to the screen until my girlfriend opened up the page on her super long monitor and it looked jank as fuuuck!!

i still like this layout, i think it's quite cute. a big reason for me changing it is that i don't really want myself to be front and center on the site... hence why i (currently) have no drawing of myself on my about page. this is also why i made my mascots for 3.0! i wanted something to represent me that isn't exactly me, y'know?
it may seem a little counterintuitive to show this, given i don't want a representation of myself on the site anymore, but it's for history and preservation purposes... weh...

this is where i made the shift to the color palette that you see today, albeit with much less focus put the green. there was... a bit too much pink, i'll admit. i think it's toned down nicely with 3.0. i'm sorry for anyone who was put off by the intense amount of pink. I have restraint now.

there were a few unique layouts to 2.0, so here are the screenshots of those!

in case anyone has ever been curious, i made the collage off to the left on the blog page myself! i spent quite a while on it, and i still think it turned out nicely. likely won't be reused for anything though, sadly. no place for it anymore...

as for my gallery, it was suuuper basic... puts more focus on the art, but come on!! i could've done Something to spice it up!! i think i have now though, so it's aaall good. thank god.

as for the 3.0 version... well, you're looking at it! no need to put a screenshot, right?

i'd like to give my thanks to everyone who has taken a look around my site at any point in its history. it really means a lot to me! i'm a pretty reclusive person and i like it that way, so i don't need fame or fortune or anything, but just knowing this place has, like, nearly 6,000 views is insane to me! if 6,000 people came up to me in person and said they even just saw the things i make, i'd probably start crying on the spot. the fact that people actually follow me too...
from the bottom of my heart, i give all of you my thanks! whether you're just a visitor, a regular, or a friend of mine, you mean the world to me.

thanks for taking a trip down memory lane with me!!~ let's all race towards the future of cloverkeep together...!! ...it's not actually a race. let's take things slow.
